《角斗士》劇情介紹：公元180年，羅馬帝國的老皇帝馬庫斯·奧里利烏斯和羅馬軍隊里最有威望的將軍馬克西姆斯托付，希望立他為自己皇位的繼承人，這一表態立即引起了馬庫斯的兒子卡默多斯的強烈不滿。權欲熏心的卡默多斯竟然弒父篡位，并下令殺死馬克西姆斯。

　　馬克西姆斯潛逃埋名，被迫成為競技場里用性命的搏殺來娛樂觀眾的角斗士。他本身豐富的作戰經驗使他逐步成為最著名和最受歡迎的角斗士之一。

　　為了向剝奪自己自由和家庭幸福的邪惡的卡默多斯復仇，馬克西姆斯開始用自己的聲名和角斗技術引導羅馬的人民起來推翻暴君。卡默多斯終于發覺了馬克西姆斯向他發起的挑戰，決定與馬克西姆斯展開一場一對一的生死角斗。
